Ahpra and the National Boards established a Prescribing Working Group through the Forum of Chairs’ Workforce Reform Committee to develop a governance framework and other resources to support the development and review of National Board regulatory policy related to prescribing of scheduled medicines.
The Prescribing Working Group acted as a reference point for engagement with National Board scheduled medicines advisory committees and with government, accreditation authorities and other stakeholders on matters related to prescribing by practitioners within the National Scheme.
The Prescribing Working Group met its objectives and held its last meeting in 2016. It may be reconvened as required to consider further work in line with its terms of reference.
